We get it, there’s a lot of information that is thrown at you from all directions in the payments industry, and it’s sometimes hard to sift through and absorb it all. That’s why we created Charged, the weekly news aggregator that highlights everything you need to know to remain successful in the marketplace with your card acceptance service.
While we’ll always email you about big picture items (think: product releases, processor connections, operational updates, etc.), we’ll communicate the rest of our updates right here, via Charged.
So grab a cup of coffee and let’s dive in – we’ll meet you back here soon for the latest news you need to know.
“No Signature Required” 🔐
As you may have started to experience “No Signature Required” on credit card receipts, this is a new, valid update that will be seen on in-store, in-person credit card transactions only. While the U.S. races to eliminate signature requirements for chip cards and EMV (Tap-to-Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.) you should see EMV transactions no longer require a signature.
Due to this being securely controlled, each card issuer must receive very specific certifications to eliminate the signature capture requirements. Over the next month please pay close attention to each receipt to ensure, signature is, or is not required for EMV transactions.
It is highly recommended that you alert all employees that accept credit card payments of this update.
